ALBUM JACKET NOTES:
Lord Shorty the "Music Revolutionary" of Trinidad started singing in 1963. He won the South Calypso Crown with Sixteen Commandments and has not looked back since. Tall, handsome and very sexy, Shorty was the hit of all the 1973 tents with his version of Art of Making Love. A very versatile man, he knocks them dead with Ballads, Reggae, Soul and Calypso.

This album marks the first time Calypso music has been recorded accompanied by Symphony Strings. Another first from the man who writes music with feeling, sings it with feeling and is definitely Gone Gone Gone.

Pooker
This is Lord Shorty's very first album released in 1973 that contains tracks that he recorded in Canada and T&T between 1972 and 1973.This album contains some of Shorty's early experimental soca & chutney-soca tracks like "Soul Calypso Music", "I Who Have Nothing" & "Indrani". Album also contains two traditional calypso tracks, a spouge track, a reggae track and three soul ballads. This album was designed to appeal to an international audience and clearly demonstrates the talent and versatility of Lord Shorty as a composer, arranger, singer and music innovator who was musically ahead of his time. After listening to this album there should remain little doubt if you previously had some that Lord Shorty is indeed the Father of Soca and Chutney-Soca.Lord Shorty is now Gone Gone Gone but his musical invention that he christened Soca in 1975 which represents the Soul Of CAlypso (with a modern appeal to the younger generation) lives on.
